BEWARE! Only the ultimate 3d nerds would consider viewing the recording of my live presentation. I tried to say "umm" and "you know" a few hundred less times, but it wasn't very effective :). The clammy hands I always get when presenting never helps, ah well.

Hopefully the folks who joined in found it useful. The second presenter covered a compositing workflow using Lightwave and Fusion (a top-end node-based compositing program)... something I'm definitely going to have to review later (well, at least for the Lightwave side of things).

Finished my Lightwave 3d presentation today

    Delura EP 005.03

This is just the beginning, really. There is still a long road of self-improvement, refinement and discovery to be traveled on. Even so, I consider EP 005.03 an important milestone in that journey.

I have plans to do some major updates to the website that will greatly expand on the info about the Delura universe; I'll let you all know as I make updates!

Newgrounds is still a little finicky with my mp4's, but I'll get it figured out... I'm using the same settings as all the previous videos, perhaps something changed without me noticing it?

Thankfully, one of the coolest things about Newgrounds is that it makes collaboration easy. To rule out the possibility of it just being that my internet sucks too bad, I'm having MetalRenard (who has a fast connection) upload the file via the project management system... if the file refuses to upload for him, I can narrow the problem down to the file rather than packet loss during upload.

When I geek hard, I post here. Apologies for anyone who feels lost :)

This is a tutorial I did for Lightwave's IKBooster that encompasses the fix command and how to use it.

Video and SFX is 99% done. I'm waiting on the final vocal clip (mostly an stock action vocals reel) I need to finalize the visual/SFX process. The rest of the work falls squarely on the shoulders of teh music dood.

When that's done, I think I'm going to sleep for 2-3 days.

    Not dead, just working stupid-hard

I may complain about Blender's setbacks... but the fact is that Delura EP 005.03 would not have been feasibly possible without Blender's compositing tools. While there are far better, more specialized compositing tools out there, I cannot afford to purchase them thus Blender is a great holdover of functionality until I can get my hands on those production tools.

The cool thing about this whole thing though, is that what I'm learning from using Blender's tools can likely be transferred to any other compositing program... so the time i've spent learning it isn't wasted. Months ago I knew very little of masking, compositing, and batch image manipulation... and now my workflow depends on it.

Oh, and I nabbed some free pixel art from Hyptosis which will be used in Delura EP 005.03 and also in some future episodes. Very generous of them to put it out there!

This is an early prototype of a model/rig I created as a template for my Lugarian race. Consequently, I ended up discarding the rig entirely because of new character animation techniques i've learned (from someone who had passed away this year, sadly) and the model will get some cleanup next time a Lugarian appears in an episode.

I managed to cut down my render times to 1/6th of what it was. Some major render problems/mistakes forced me to do some research/development. The image dev notes explains...
