Amazing visuals and excellent character rigging here. The animation was weak in places but nothing I felt really took away from the overall experience.

My favorite part though was the visuals you managed to pull off at the 1:08 mark. Absolutely beautiful volumetric lighting and composition.

I respect the amount of work that goes into Skullgirls but can't say I'm a fan of it. Good work on the promo, the people have certainly voted in your favor!

Thanks for another enjoyable video! I am totally into this immersive folklore style you have.

Top notch animation, respect!

I loved the "That wasn't very 'everyone' but here you go!" part.

I'll be straightforward and saying that this series didn't excite me initially... but I'm kind of a lurker so I give episodic content a chance :)

There were a lot of things done right about this installment. I'll outline the things that I enjoyed most out of this episode, and inversely what I think held the content back:

PRO:

-Character development. I really felt like you pushed the envelope here and truly, honestly connected the characters with the audience. This surprised me greatly knowing beforehand that the episode was centered on Nylocke! Specifically, the concepts of questioning one's self worth, the desire to be someone else (or perhaps, who one truly is?), and discovering the true colors of someone else really made me care about the characters in a way unlike any of the previous TOME episodes... you did something different here and I just can't say it in words beyond this.

-The animation is well-placed. There wasn't a single frame of animation that I felt was wasted or not used to its fullest capacity. I also see that the wear and tear you've been putting on your wrists to draw all this stuff out; it shows the experience you've earned as an artist.

-I always appreciate good voice acting. Daring to do a musical number as well, that stuff is harder to do than people give artists credit for.

CON:

-The music felt as if it was overbearing on the vocals concerning frequencies in some areas. The series would really benefit from an added EQ pass in the future so that the character vocals always feel distinctly separate from the music tracks used. This is especially true of Kirbopher's vocals; his frequency was lower.

-Some parts are drawn out. The dialogue could have been cut down and had the same or increased entertainment value, even knowing Nylocke's tendency to really... REALLY overdo his monologues.

I look forward to whats in store for this series. I know there are other series that have similar concepts/settings out there... but this is an indie show, and indie content creators deserve respect! :)

Now I know what's been keeping you busy all this time! Heh!

This is a very worthy Newgrounds commercial. Simple-but-effective visuals, the right pacing, and good writing. Good voice acting too!

Cheers!

My favorite part was at 0:24 where he gets up with the scarecrow's chest impaled. "FINE!" came in a close second, heh.

Thanks for a fun watch!

I agree that Pewdiepie and the 100,000+ other facecam folks produce lame content, but there is a reason why they are popular:

1) They produce content regularly, and reliably. Sometimes the quality of work can be low if it is something people can come back to and know for certain that they are going to get some form of entertainment.

2) They cover very popular games/subjects. This automatically grants them the same exposure that companies/individuals have spent countless dollars/time to put out there. Combine this with the fact they produce these videos 1-4 times a day, and it floods YouTube's search results with their content... so when someone wants to find out more about a game, they get their dumb channel instead.

So, yes, it is baffling that such lame content can be so highly praised, but at the same time there is a science behind it that a lot of viewers from both sides of the love/hate spectrum don't see.

I'm liking this series thus far. Over time if things keep going full speed I wouldn't mind an improvement of audio quality as its the only thing I can really poke at as far as constructive criticism goes.

I thoroughly enjoy the abundant and well-placed usage of animated frames, and the originality of the art direction, scenery and character design.

A funny short watch. I really enjoyed the detail put into the sound effects; some people don't realize just how much impact good and well-placed audio can make.

MindChamber responds:

sound is 85% precent of any visual experience. sound is truly 3D

Hello. I also like looking at illuminated screens as well as pressing buttons. We have a lot in common!
