Over the coming week, we will be looking around for the best possible system that we can get for $750 that will be used for 3d animation; this funding comes entirely from our fans and that generosity is beyond anything we ever expected. As many of you know, our old systems were 10 yr old athlon II's running on windows xp 32-bit... it is about time we get something a little more current.
I'm psyched... but of course we gotta keep a cool head here; there's still some careful planning/research to do before we can make the big purchase! If you happen to stumble upon a good deal on a system that meets or exceeds this or this, please send links our way!

I guess you could build a rig for less, but both deals look good... but no specifics on who made the gunk inside (HD, memory) which is a tad strange. Win8 sounds spooky, will it reliably run your software (which has some pretty old roots)?
