For the software including the plugin and a used kinect you might have 1400 USD into this. I would say the investment is more than worth it considering the results. If you are a hobbyist or on a budget this is the absolute best solution out there based on cost/performance.

Pretty cool stuff and if the kinect results in "shaky" motion you can clean that up before the final output is made. Adding motion blur to those segments may even be enough to hide that as well. They mentioned how you could touch up joint placement in the same way. I would imagine the more you use this and the more familiar you get with it the better things would look.
