I agree... and the frustrating aspect of making our hardware do stuff it wasn't designed to do is a skill that I can transfer over to new hardware should we manage to reach the funding goal. Perhaps one day I may decide to do an extreme-detail scene that would surpass the limits of even today's computers... I now know how to make it happen (compositing, memory management, etc).
It does need to change though; you can do great work on old hardware... it just adds so much more work to the whole process that it is impractical for something like an animated series of Delura's scale.
